WoT Numbers database back-up feature
I already once lost substantial amount of data due to Windows-crash, so how to prevent loss of data ?

I already once lost substantial amount of data due to Windows-crash, so how to prevent loss of data ?

The answer is simple: back-up the data on a regular interval.

But how to backup the databasefiles without running some administration tool ? A tool that even might compromise the WoT Numbers database, making the data unusable for WoT Numbers......

So wouldn't it be very convenient if there was a back-up option in the WoTnumbers menu ?

Even better, what if you could tell WoT Numbers when and how often (rotation) to keep back-ups of your precious data ?

What about performing a database backup every time you exit Wot Numbers? It could check the database file size first, and skip it if no new data was added.

To avoid making it to complex I suggest just copy the database file to a spesific folder adding a timestamp to the file name.

To avoid to many backup files, the system could delete the oldest files and just keep the latest ones.

    Any other ideas?

Added database backup feature for SQLite databases in the latest pilot version 0.11.2.

Go to Application Settings + Options to set up backup file location. It as also possible to run the backup manually from this setting.

After the setup is done, a database backup will be performed automatically every time you exit Wot Numbers if it is 12 hours or more since previous backup. The system will remove old backup files, and make sure only the 10 newest backup files are kept.
